A VERY UNUSUAL INSTITUTION

Artificial intelligence.
Real opinions.

Five fictional polymaths. Implausible qualifications. A very personal hearing for someone you know.

Nominate one person or several. The live jury considers your evidence, asks a question or two, deliberates, and votes. A win becomes a tribute. A refusal becomes a story. Official awards continue throughout the year, with the flagship occasion every December 23.

THE DISTINGUISHED, SELF-APPOINTED JURY

Centuries of wisdom.
Very little humility.

Experts in everything.
Including each other’s shortcomings.

Five fictional historical judges in a grand oil painting: Aurelia, Octavius, Isadora, Archibald, and Mabel with her spanner

“Lovely theory. Does the drawer open?”

Mechanic, cook, negotiator, and proprietor of a boarding house where seven future Nobel laureates failed to pay rent. Mabel judges whether things work and whether ordinary people benefit.

Entirely fictional characters. Entirely invented credentials. Researched official judgments include retrieved sources. Personal ceremonies use the stories and supporting documents you provide.

The deliberation is half the occasion. Follow the arguments, the changes of heart, and the exquisitely unnecessary footnotes.

A FEW REASONABLE QUESTIONS

For the record.

The plan is simple: AI agents propose categories and nominees, the founder approves the slate, and the jury independently researches, deliberates, and votes. The personal jury is live: five separate personas use OpenAI, and application code counts the ballots. Official ceremonies evaluate the organizer’s supplied evidence and remain private until published. Organizers can also commission live web research and repeatable category runs. Additional AI providers are a future integration.
